Child Find Program

The Child Find Program provides developmental surveillance and monitoring of infants and toddlers who meet high risk criteria for developmental delays such as:

  • a gestation less than 33 weeks
  • birth weight less than 1800 grams
  • mothers 16 years and younger
  • indicated report of child abuse or neglect
  • prenatal exposure to drugs or alcohol
  • serious illness or traumatic injury
  • lack of prenatal care
  • behind on recommended well-child care and/or immunizations
  • elevated blood lead levels
  • parental developmental delay or mental illness
  • other high-risk criteria indicating potential for developmental delay

 

Services

The Child Find Program provides the following services

  • parenting support for the child’s care
  • information about community services available
  • helping the parent/guardian to contact their doctor to follow the child’s growth and development more closely
