
New Radio System Update

The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors at its October meeting authorized a contract with Motorola for the implementation of a P.25 800MHz Digital Trunked radio system. The total cost of that authorization is $11.7M.
This marks a significant milestone in the Public Safety Radio System project.
It is expected that it will be early 3rd quarter 2010 prior to the delivery of any parts of the system. There will be an extensive system acceptance testing procedure prior to the system being released for general use.
This award to Motorola is for the following componenet parts to the system:
- Base Stations and Network Controllers
- Dispatch Consoles
- Mobile and Portable radios
- Engineering and Installations Services
