Child Find Program
The Child Find Program provides developmental surveillance and monitoring of infants and toddlers who meet high risk criteria for developmental delays such as:
- a gestation less than 33 weeks
- birth weight less than 1800 grams
- mothers 16 years and younger
- indicated report of child abuse or neglect
- prenatal exposure to drugs or alcohol
- serious illness or traumatic injury
- lack of prenatal care
- behind on recommended well-child care and/or immunizations
- elevated blood lead levels
- parental developmental delay or mental illness
- other high-risk criteria indicating potential for developmental delay
Services
The Child Find Program provides the following services
- parenting support for the child’s care
- information about community services available
- helping the parent/guardian to contact their doctor to follow the child’s growth and development more closely
