October 2022 Update from County Administrator Steve Bulger:
The autumn season is underway throughout Saratoga County, as apple picking, corn mazes, hayrides, and foliage tours kick into high gear for people of all ages to enjoy. We had a very successful summer season across the County, with record breaking numbers at the Racetrack and SPAC, along with visitors to our beautiful lakes. The Saratoga National Battlefield is also seeing an uptick in visitors as the 250th Anniversary of the Turning Point of the Revolution approaches.
Our Board of Supervisors continues to take action to help our residents and businesses thrive and grow during these times of high inflation. The Board authorized increased investments in our road and sewer infrastructure to help support the continued growth and expansion of our economic base, including the recently approved Fab 8.2 Project by Global Foundries in Malta. Other investments include increased funding for Workforce Development, continued expansion of our Public Heath Department, and additional funding for our Veterans and homeless shelter.
We are proud to be ranked the Healthiest County out of all 62 counties in New York State by US News & World Report, which takes into account metrics including education, housing, economic activity, and equity. This on top of the fact that Saratoga County already has both the lowest Sales Tax and Property Tax Rates in the entire State!
Here at County Government, we are focused on constantly improving the delivery and efficiency of services that our residents expect and deserve. Please reach out to any of our departments if we may be of assistance. Thank you for all you do to help Saratoga County attain the great quality of life we enjoy!
