Saratoga County Soil and Water Conservation District was created by a resolution of the Saratoga County Board of Supervisors in 1947. Since then, The District has developed programs related to the needs of Saratoga County and worked to support County municipalities and residents through locally developed and led programs.

Saratoga County SWCD is one of 58 Conservation Districts in New York State. Our Soil and Water Conservation District is led by our 7-member Board. The Board is made up of County residents from many different backgrounds and they are responsible for directing District staff. Programs are made available to all county residents to protect and preserve natural resources.

The Saratoga County SWCD will be holding a 4-Hour Erosion and Sediment Control Training on Friday November 20th from 8am to noon at the 4H Training Center 556 Middle Line Rd Ballston Spa, NY 12020 – Register

Mission Statement
The mission of the Saratoga County Soil and Water Conservation District is to promote conservation with farming as a preferred land use following the AEM framework, scientifically based technical assistance, and cooperation with related agencies. Increased farm viability by assisting farms in meeting and surpassing environmental standards while maintaining positive neighbor relations and a good public image is the long-term goal.
