Trainings
4-Hour Erosion & Sediment Control Training – Under the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s Stormwater Permit, all construction site contractors and subcontractors must have at least one trained individual from their company on their construction sites daily that is responsible for implementation of Erosion Controls and Stormwater Management. These individuals must complete this 4-hour training every three years to remain certified on the principles and practices of erosion and sediment control and stormwater management.
The District offers in-person training several times per year and also offers private classes for businesses! If you have a larger group that needs training & a meeting room, we can come to you. Please contact Kaitlyn at for more information. These training covers both technical and regulatory aspects of stormwater management and erosion control, and is open to anyone including municipal officials, developers, contractors, non-profit organizations, and others. The charge for each attendee is $85.00.

Envirothon
The Envirothon® is an environmental and natural resource conservation problem-solving, teambuilding and leadership experience and competition for high school students (grades 9-12 or ages 14-19) across the United States, Canada, and China. Incorporating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) principles, experiential learning, and hands-on outdoor field experiences. The Envirothon fosters student learning in the areas of AQUATIC ECOLOGY, FORESTRY, SOILS and LAND USE, WILDLIFE, and CURRENT ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES.
Students are challenged to develop critical thinking skills to create inventive solutions to the complex local and global environmental and natural resource issues facing our world today. With the Envirothon, students are empowered to educate others, act in their local communities, pursue higher academic study in environmental disciplines, and to work toward careers in the environment, natural resources, and conservation.
