The program’s goal is to minimize potential health hazards and protect surface and groundwater by ensuring that regulated facilities with onsite wastewater treatment systems located within Saratoga County are installed, maintained, and operate satisfactorily.

• Reviews plans for new and modified/repaired septic system proposals.
• Investigates complaints related to septic systems.
• Provides technical assistance to septic system installers and designers.
• Answers questions from the public regarding septic system operation and maintenance.

We encourage designers to submit plans and applications via Email. If electronic submission is not available, applications may be dropped off at 6012 County Farm Road, Ballston Spa, NY 12020. Please note that only one set of plans is required. See the Onsite Septic Submittal Package and Fee Schedule below for full details on application requirements.
