Adoption and Foster Care

The purpose of Foster Care is to provide temporary, safe living arrangements for children that have experienced (or are at significant risk of experiencing) abuse or neglect. Children who enter Foster Care are removed from their home by Child Protective Services due to parent or caregiver’s inability to protect their children. Their placement into Foster Care is adjudicated by Family Court. Children may also enter Foster Care when their parents are experiencing serious medical, mental health, or financial hardships and are unable to appropriately care for their children due to these circumstances. Department of Aging and Youth Services

The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors and the Saratoga County Department of Aging & Youth Services are committed to assisting our older citizens to remain in their homes and to actively participate in family and community life. Workforce Development

Workforce Development operates the Workforce  Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program.  This is a 100% Federally funded program, with funds distributed by the New York State Department of Labor.  Saratoga County works in a three-county consortium with Warren and Washington Counties to receive and allocate funds.  To access funds, the County is mandated to create a Workforce Development Board and a Career Center for providing core employment services along with a variety of other optional services.
